Looking for a reliable solution for cell disruption? Constant Systems specialises in high-pressure cell disruption and manufactures equipment used across biotechnology, pharmaceutical development, research and production. We know lab, and we are here to help you choose the right model for your sample types and volumes.
The range is scalable from single research samples of 0.5 mL through to continuous processing of 150 L per hour. The technology delivers up to 99 per cent cell lysis in a single pass, even for tough organisms such as gram-positive bacteria, yeast and some fungi and algae.
Sample types handled
- Bacteria such as E. coli, Pseudomonas and Streptomyces coelicolor
- Yeasts such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pichia pastoris and Schizosaccharomyces pombe
- Fungi and algae such as Nannochloropsis oculata
- Mammalian cells
- Solid, frozen, tissue or plant samples (with the right model)
- Viscous or re-suspended samples
Key features
- Maximum process pressure up to 2,700 bar
- Touchscreen control, no priming required
- Integrated cooling jacket and fully contained process
- Hydraulically driven, no compressed air or gas bottles required
- 316L stainless steel and autoclavable components (CF1)
- CIP and SIP options available for the CF range on request
- ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing, 12-month warranty
Frequently asked questions about cell disruption from Constant Systems
Which model suits my application?
It depends on sample volume and cell wall type. For single samples under 8 mL, One Shot is the right fit. For research up to 10 L, CF1 is suitable, and for larger volumes or production, CF2 or HFR are used.
How high is the cell lysis efficiency?
CF1 delivers up to 99 per cent cell lysis in a single pass with Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and the HFR range achieves over 95 per cent with the same organism.
Can I process frozen or solid samples?
Yes. One Shot and Multi Cycle models are designed to handle solid, frozen, tissue and plant samples without thawing.
Is the equipment suitable for GMP-regulated environments?
CF1 is built for GMP-ready operation with product-path components in 316L stainless steel. CIP and SIP options are available for the CF range.
