Continuous Flow Processing for High-Precision Cell Disruption

Constant Systems CF Cell Disruptor Series delivers robust continuous-flow cell disruption for research, bioprocessing, and industrial applications. The series includes two models, CF1 and CF2, which provide identical processing performance and differ only in throughput capacity:

• CF1: up to 6 L/hour
• CF2: up to 24 L/hour

Both models feature an intuitive HMI control interface, a maximum processing pressure of 40 kpsi (2700 bar), an integrated cooling jacket, a 200 mL inlet reservoir, and an automatic shutdown function.

Like all cell disruption instruments from Constant Systems (UK), the CF series uses precise and fully scalable hydraulic control—supporting workflows from 0.5 mL single-prep to 150 L/hour large-volume processing.

This high level of pressure accuracy ensures every sample is processed at the operator’s set pressure, delivering reproducible results. For most applications, a single pass is sufficient, reducing processing time. The CF systems handle fluid and re-suspended samples and are ideal for disrupting bacteria, yeast, algae, and other cell types.

CF1 – Compact, Flexible, and Ideal for Small to Mid-Scale Workflows

The CF1, with a footprint of approximately 700 mm², is compact enough for benchtop use but performs optimally with its custom-designed mobile trolley. The trolley positions the instrument at the ideal working height and features full-swivel, lockable casters for safe mobility in the lab.

Recommended for processing volumes from 15 mL to 10 L, the CF1 can be equipped with an optional integrated peristaltic pump, fully controlled through the HMI. This ensures continuous feeding of the inlet reservoir and prevents sample settling during recirculation.

CF2 – High-Capacity, Floor-Standing Continuous Flow Cell Disruptor

With the same ~700 mm² footprint, the CF2 is a dedicated floor-standing model designed for larger workflows. It is recommended for processing volumes between 15 mL and 100 L and comes equipped with an integrated peristaltic pump as standard. Full-swivel, lockable casters make the CF2 easy and safe to reposition as needed.
