Energy-efficient, ergonomic and safe Class II microbiological safety cabinet from Baker – optimal protection for user, product and environment.

Baker BioVanguard – Class II microbiological safety cabinet

The BioVanguard series from BAKER consists of high-quality Class II biological safety cabinets designed for microbiological work with, for example, bacteria, viruses and allergens. The cabinets provide optimal protection for user, product and environment when working with materials in biosafety levels 1, 2 and 3, and meet the highest requirements in biological safety, reliability and ergonomics.

Low energy consumption and quiet operation

BioVanguard is equipped with efficient, energy-saving EC fans that keep power consumption low. The carefully engineered design also ensures a low noise level, creating a comfortable and sustainable working environment in the lab.

Ergonomic design

  • 7° forward-sloping front window in laminated safety glass – provides a comfortable working position, with predefined working, opening and closing positions.
  • Epoxy-coated aluminium armrest – supports ergonomic comfort and at the same time acts as an aerodynamic wing profile to improve inflow and increase user protection.
  • Ergonomic lighting placed outside the work area – does not disturb the airflow, creates no shadows and does not interfere with cleaning.
  • Integrated footrest in the optional support stand.
  • Angled LCD control panel – displays all relevant functions and alarms at a glance.
  • Advanced front window with sliding and hinged function – can be fully lifted to open the entire work area for cleaning or loading of large items.
  • Seamless one-piece stainless steel work surface – can collect 2–3 litres of spilled liquids.
  • Drip tray beneath the work surface – collects up to 1.5 litres of spilled liquids according to EN 12469 and prevents liquid from entering hard-to-clean areas.

Advanced safety features

  • Exceeds EN 12469 requirements – multi-shell construction where all contaminated areas are under or surrounded by negative pressure.
  • V-shaped perforations in the work surface – prevent inflow blockage and protect against contamination.
  • Intake prefilter – stops dust and particles from accumulating inside the cabinet, prolongs HEPA filter lifetime and ensures effective decontamination.
  • Laminated safety glass front window (8 mm, two layers) – provides robust and reliable user protection.
