Viscometers are used across many industries for product development, quality control, and process monitoring. They provide information about the flow properties of liquids, a crucial quality factor in industries such as food and cosmetics. Based on viscosity, important decisions are made regarding production plant design or suitable packaging.
The rotational viscometers in the ROTAVISC series determine liquid viscosity for all applications, from laboratories to quality control. Together with the appropriate accessories, the four devices provide both relative and absolute measurement results across different viscosity ranges. Whether for simple or demanding viscosity measurement, ROTAVISC delivers highly precise results thanks to the latest technology, with a reproducibility of +/-0.2%.
VISCOSITY MEASUREMENT MADE EASIER WITH EXTRA FEATURES
Since viscosity values are only meaningful when combined with temperature data, all IKA viscometers come with a PT 100 temperature sensor. Samples can be measured from -100°C to 250°C using accessories such as the ELVAS-1 spindle set and the HRC 2 control thermostat.
The multilingual and intuitive menu makes the device easy to use. Three measurement modes are available depending on the need. Additionally, customer-specific spindles and up to 10 different programs can be stored. Users can define when the measurement starts and stops—using a timer, when a specific torque is reached, or when viscosity has been measured.
Labworldsoft® 6 Visc enables networking and control of the viscometer along with the thermostat and additional sensors, allowing unlimited program and data storage. Moreover, the software supports compliance with FDA CFR 21 Part 11 requirements.

IKA offers different solutions depending on the application and viscosity range:
- ROTAVISC lo-vi: Viscosity range: 1 – 6,000,000 mPas
- ROTAVISC me-vi: Viscosity range: 100 – 40,000,000 mPas
- ROTAVISC hi-vi I: Viscosity range: 200 – 80,000,000 mPas
- ROTAVISC hi-vi II: Viscosity range: 800 – 320,000,000 mPas
