PLASMID+® is an enriched medium specifically developed for plasmid DNA production. It supports higher cell densities and plasmid yields than LB medium. Maximum culture growth is achieved when used with Ultra Yield™ flasks. E. coli DH5α is the recommended host strain for use with PLASMID+® liquid medium. E. coli XL1-Blue also produces high-quality plasmid DNA and may enhance yields with plasmids smaller than 3 kb.
