Carbon Dioxide Sensors

Optical carbon dioxide sensors for versatile measurement applications.

Our optical carbon dioxide sensors measure the partial pressure of CO₂ (pCO₂) in liquids. They are optimized for culture media and physiological solutions and can be used for applications ranging from micro- to macroscale. You can choose from various CO₂ sensor designs to get a dissolved CO₂ probe that truly meets your requirements.

PreSens offers a range of carbon dioxide sensors. Below, we have described some of them, but if you are looking for a specific model that is not listed, feel free to reach out to one of our sales representatives for more information.

CO₂ Sensor Spot SP-CD1

CO₂ sensor spots measure the partial pressure of dissolved carbon dioxide. The spots are fixed to the inner surface of glass or transparent plastic vessels. Measurements are then taken non-invasively from the outside through the transparent container material.

CO₂ Dipping Probe DP-CD1

The CO₂ Dipping Probe DP-CD1 is an optical sensor based on a 2 mm polymer optical fiber. The probe is covered with a high-quality steel tube, making it ideal for invasive measurements and monitoring of dissolved CO₂.

CO₂ Sensor Foil SF-CD2R

The SF-CD2R sensor foil can be attached to any sample surface or the inner surface of transparent glass or plastic vessels. Images of CO₂ distributions across entire sample areas are then recorded non-invasively using the VisiSens™ detector unit DU03 or VisiSens TD. The sensor foil is designed for measurements in liquids or samples with constant relative humidity and measures low CO₂ concentrations in the range of 0 – 1%.
