pH measurement

Optical pH measurement solutions for versatile research applications.

pH is an important parameter in research and various industries, from assessing culture conditions and determining pH in tumor microenvironments to profiling applications in environmental studies. With various pH sensor designs, fiber optic pH meters, specialized multiparameter systems for highly parallel measurements, or 2D pH imaging, PreSens can offer an optical pH measurement solution for a wide range of applications.

PreSens offers a variety of pH meters. Below we describe a selection of them, but if you are looking for a specific one not listed here, feel free to contact one of our sales representatives for more information.

PH-1 MICRO

The pH-1 micro is a precise fiber optic pH meter. It is temperature compensated and used with pH microsensors based on a 140 μm optical fiber. A PC is connected to run the user-friendly software. The pH-1 micro is also equipped with an analog output and a trigger input.

SFR VARIO

SFR vario enables online monitoring of oxygen, biomass, and pH or CO₂ simultaneously. Online-measured biomass data can be correlated with parameters such as optical density, cell dry weight, or cell concentration. This allows real-time insights into, for example, OD600 development. The device optics can read a sensor for oxygen and a pH or CO₂ sensor (see CO₂ Technical Data) – integrated into the ready-to-use cultivation vessels – and also include a special optical setup for biomass monitoring. The oxygen uptake rate (OUR) can be calculated based on the slope of the online oxygen measurements. The system is powered by two long-lasting rechargeable batteries and is compatible with all standard shaking incubators. Up to 4 SFR vario units can be operated from the SFR vario software. Measurement data is transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth to a PC or notebook.

VISISENS TD

VisiSens TD enables simultaneous 2D readout of optical O₂, pH, and CO₂ sensor foils within a setup. Flat sensors for one or multiple analytes are placed on the sample area or in different cavities, and the fluorescent sensor signals are read pixel by pixel with a camera. Fields of view from mm² up to 30 cm x 25 cm are possible. VisiSens TD provides an overview of your sample area and allows free selection of the region of interest for analyzing spatial and temporal gradients or simultaneous readout of multiple sensor signals. The modular system can be customized to meet users’ requirements.
